Hello, loved ones,
Let’s talk today about some important stuff: favorite skincare routine during the lockdown.
As I mentioned in my previous article, after going through different stages of despair during the isolation period, I somehow managed to regain a sort of balance. Which is great news! Not saying that now things are perfect, but they are much better. I will now tell you about how I stepped in and followed my favorite skincare routine during this lockdown.
One of the things that I tried working on during this isolation is my skincare routine. Initially, in the first period, my skin did not respond well to the lockdown ( I love wearing make-up and I believe that it is very good for your skin 🙂 Moving from that to no fresh air, no make-up, no routine, no nothing, my skin started to look bad.
I needed to step in and gain some sense of control.
Trust me, I can have the best skincare products and best beauty brands in the world, if they just sit there on my vanity shelves, that is equal to zero. And the truth is they did sit there…for a while.
So, the first thing that I did was to make sure I got out of my pajamas first thing in the morning.
Yes, small that’s a small step for humankind, a huge step for myself. But now, if worn too much, those things tend to get dangerous.
Doing this, gave me a slight sense that I am going somewhere and made me automatically want to take care of my skin.
I have to say from the beginning, not sure if my skincare fits you, as I have a combination and oily skin. The whole point of this article is just to inspire you to find your routine.
Now that I had the right mindset, I started each morning by washing my face with Biderma Sensibio Gel Moussant. The recent cleanser I got from Notino and that performs very well on my skin. I am addicted to their miscellaneous water, which is probably one of the best on the market.
Next is a tonic
The one and only (as you can see I just need to open a new bottle): Pixi Glow Tonic that I got from Cult Beauty. This ones leave a perfect glowing skin, cleans even the last traces make-up and preps it for the cream and serum.
With some of the products that I love to use, I buy them extra when there is a goodie bag at stake. This one I bought to reach an order target for one of their last goodie bags.
Rule number one: always buy beauty products when there is a good offer or a goodie bag at steak.
Serum time: been in love with Peptidine from DR JART, this brand is a Korean skincare brand that I discovered through a dear friend of mine.
I must say I had no idea what peptides are when I bought the serum, I was just eager to try the brand out.
Yes, this happens very often, especially when I shop at TKMAXX ( I miss that shop so much!).
Doing some research, it seems that peptides are a sort of bond of amino acids that form certain proteins and that users can help with the stimulation of collagen.
Well, good to know, because I like this serum, so it can have in it angel kisses, as long as it gets the job done.
After I let the serum sink in a bit, I follow with the face cream.
It is time to treat myself a bit since lockdown affected my skin, so I decided to open up a new cream.
Developed by pioneering stem cell and biomedical scientist Professor Augustinus Bader, The Rich Cream is powdered by his patented Trigger Factor Complex (TFC8) – a ground-breaking compound that works to ‘unlock’ skin’s innate code and activate regeneration.
I have the cream from the Cult Beauty Advent calendar because otherwise, the price is insane!
It’s only 15ml, which is enough to last a while and it makes sense if you think about it: the advent calendar costs around 200 euro and it had more than 25 products inside, so totally worth it and I hope they will release one this year as well.
It’s a good thing that I started to use this one during lockdown because I think that using it with the foundation every day it would have been too heavy on the skin. No wonder, since it is designed for normal to dry skin and I have combination skin.
But since I’m lacking hydration, I think it’s a good idea that I started to use it now and I must say that indeed it leaves a gorgeous skin after it sets on the face.
After I finish with the cream, I make sure I apply some lip balm.
During the day, just to make sure I keep fresh and awake, I keep next to me a bottle of Face mist from Mario Badescu got from Beauty Bay and I spray along from time to time to hydrate a bit.
This is my favorite skincare routine during lockdown for the day, I also have a weekly masks and exfoliants routine, which I will detail in a new article, as well as a nighttime routine that will also go in a new article.
How about you? What is your skincare routine during a lockdown?
All the love,
